My goal it to show women how beautiful they are at this moment of their lives, and to stop the self-hate. But let me tell you how strong this woman is: the Vietnam war brought countless horrors, like every war in history. My mother risked her life, managed to escape communism and moved to France. For years, she supported her whole family back in Vietnam. That’s who she is: continuously taking care of others and putting herself second.
Now I am happy to say that she lives a quiet life in the USA with us. My mother might not have been able to finish her education because of the war, but thanks to her sacrifice and love, she gave to my siblings and myself the opportunity to go to college.
Through my lens, I wanted to capture how beautiful my mother is.
