Here's another place that I was fortunate to visit during my trip in France, Frioul Island (Ile du Frioul), which is part of the Frioul archipelago, near the bay of Marseille in the South East of France.
My best friend Laurence and her boyfriend Fred took me to Marseille to take the boat from there. Now, I have to say that I had reservations about this city: medias project a really bad image of it, and me as a Parisian, there's a rivalry between the Paris and Marseille soccer teams. What can I say? Soccer is serious business in France! lol. But fortunately, nothing bad happened during my brief visit :)
Laurence and Fred are athletic and are used to do LONG trails every week end, but I'm not! I only fast walk 2 miles at a time, 3-4 times a week. That is it! But I didn't want to complain, so I walked 8-10 kms (12.8 to 16 miles) that day with Laurence and Fred on Frioul. It was quite an accomplishment for me! I would have jumped up in the air of joy... if only I wasn't exhausted by the time we were done ;)
Below are some images I took that day... enjoy, and leave me a comment about your favorite beach!
I love the ocean, and the Mediterranean sea was peaceful that day. The boat first stopped at the If Island, where there is the If castle (chateau d'If), that the famous writer Alexandre Dumas used as one of his settings for "The Count of Monte Cristo".

Overall, I kept up with those 2! We went all over the island...
