You might recognize Kaitlynn on the far left; I photographed her senior session a few weeks ago in downtown Fredericksburg. Her grandmother Christa appreciated my work, so she asked me to take their family portraits, as it's been a very long time since they've had one done. It was a chilly November afternoon, but the Fall foliage was still there. It was quite funny to see Christa's husband, Mike, dressed in red and khaki, as I had just warned their daughter Tammy NOT to be wearing that (as it would be a reminder of Target)... I also greatly enjoyed meeting all their fur babies (dogs and birds!). It was a fun session, as you can see.
Emily and Kaitlynn were such goofballs <3
I was drawn to Alexandra from the very first email I received from her: she's articulate, a great storyteller, and described her love story and upcoming wedding to David so perfectly that I really, really wanted to be the one capturing their big day. After exchanging emails and finally meeting Alex, I found out how lovely she is. Alex and David are so nice and cute together. Their engagement session was held exactly a year before their wedding, at the same venue, Stratford Hall in Montross, which is Robert E. Lee's birthplace. Alex and David incorporated family heirlooms: antique blanket and picnic basket, and Alex brought one of her beloved tea sets too. I loved those special touches, and can't wait to see the ones that they will include in their wedding in November 2015.
