I love, love, love Georgetown but only come once in a while, mainly because it's 2 hours away from my home, but also because of the traffic (95 is quite congested). But when I do make it to Georgetown, it is so pleasant. It has a smaller town feel to it. The architecture is nice, it's right by the river, and there are lots of options for dining and shopping.
One of my favorite stops is Paul's Bakery, which is a chain of French bakeries (as you guessed). When I step in there, I could almost believe I'm still in Paris :) I always stock up and buy lots of goodies to bring back to Virginia. I think the bakers are pretty amazed that I could spend $75 in croissants, pains au chocolat (and NOT chocolate croissant!) and my favorite: chausson au pomme.
So next time you go to Georgetown, try Paul's, you won't regret it!
Do you like French food? If so, I'd like to hear about it and leave me a comment below!
